How To Get Flying Carpet In WoW WotLK Classic

Learn how to craft the Flying Carpet, also known as the Magic Carpet Mount, and all the materials needed in Wrath of the Lich King Classic.
How To Get Flying Carpet In WoW WotLK Classic

World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King Classic (WotLK) launched on 26th September 2022, and players have been preparing for months for the expansion. From farming Gold to using and purchasing super-rare items and everything in between, players have long been preparing for Northrend's complete debut, including Dungeons and Raids.

But unlike other areas across Azeroth where players can explore and traverse lands using a standard grounded Mount, Northrend requires different means. The only way to navigate in Northrend is through Flying Mounts -- which certainly isn't cheap. But thanks to the Flying Carpet (or Magic Carpet), exploring Northrend couldn’t be any easier.

How To Get The Flying Carpet in WotLK?

Unlike most Flying Mounts that sell for thousands of Gold in the Auction House, the Flying Carpet is an almost costless amount, available for players with the Tailoring Profession.

Although the Flying Mount is quite easily acquirable in WotLK, the catch is that your Tailoring Profession must be 300 or higher to learn the recipe and craft it. Additionally, this Flying Mount moves at 150% speed, which can be quite useful to traverse Northrend on your adventures.

First and foremost, you’ll need to learn how to make the Flying Carpet from an NPC. There are many Tailoring Trainers across Northrend and The Outlands that can teach you the recipe.

  • Darin Goodstich (Grand Master Tailoring Trainer) - Borean Tundra

  • Alexandra McQueen (Grand Master Tailoring Trainer) - Howling Fjord

  • Raenah (Grand Master Tailoring Trainer) - Borean Tundra

  • Benjamin Clegg (Grand Master Tailoring Trainer) - Howling Fjord

  • Charles Worth (Grand Master Tailoring Trainer) - Dalaran

  • Miralisse (Master Tailoring Trainer) - Shattrath City

  • Weaver Aoa (Master Tailoring Trainer) - Shattrath City

  • Dalinna (Master Tailoring Trainer) - Hellfire Peninsula

  • Hama (Master Tailoring Trainer) - Hellfire Peninsula

Note that you won’t be able to learn how to make the Flying Carpet Mount unless you’ve reached 300 in your Tailoring Profession.

Once you have, you’ll need to spend some Gold to learn the recipe and find the materials listed below to craft the Flying Carpet Mount. You can find these materials by farming or purchasing from NPCs or the Auction House.

  • Bolt of Netherweave (6x)

  • Heavy Silken Thread (5x)

  • Arcane Dust (4x)

  • Golden Draenite (4x)

Once you’ve acquired the materials, you can create the Flying Carpet Mount, which should take twenty seconds to complete. But you won’t be able to ride it unless you’ve reached level 60 and learned Expert Riding

And that’s all there is to it. We want to thank BloodyFox Gaming for their detailed guide on how to get the Flying Carpet Mount in WotLK. Feel free to watch their video above.
