WoW Dragonflight Trading Posts: Release Date, Cosmetics, Items & More

Azeroth keeps growing in stature as Blizzard continues to push out new content and features. Since the release of World of Warcraft (WoW) Dragonflight, players have been enjoying their time in Dragon Isles, but there's always room for another activity/feature. That's where WoW Dragonflight Trading Posts come into play.

This guide explains what Trading Posts are in WoW Dragonflight, what the release date of this new feature is, and what types of items, such as pets and cosmetics, players can earn.

Update on 24 February 2023: Trading Posts have opened in WoW Dragonflight and everyone can now use them since the update on 1 February 2023.

What Are Trading Posts in WoW?

Trading Posts is a brand-new type of trader in World of Warcraft for both Horde and Alliance players to enjoy. Players will be able to complete monthly activities to earn a new in-game currency (Trade Tender) in order to purchase a wealth of items.

These items, however, do not increase your character's power. Instead, they are cosmetic, from Transmogs to Mounts and more. New items, alongside new activities, will get introduced every month. Blizzard explains:

There are a multitude of interesting transmog, pet, and mount possibilities in Azeroth, limited only by imagination. The Trading Post will serve as a home for many more items from across Azeroth— and beyond—and is not limited by the current game content. You can expect to see a variety of fun new items to add to your collection.

Opening the possibilities allows for a wide variety of different goods to be brought to the Trading Post and players can expect the unexpected in each month’s new catalogue!

WoW Dragonflight Trading Posts Release Date

Update: Blizzard has confirmed the release date of the WoW Dragonflight 10.0.5 update as 24 January 2023, and the Trading Posts open on 1 February 2023.

At the time of writing, there is no exact release date for the Trading Posts feature in WoW Dragonflight. We do expect this new feature to release somewhere in late January 2023 or maybe February 2023.

We do know for sure, however, that Trading Posts will release with the WoW Dragonflight 10.0.5 and that the developer is testing the feature on the PTR. This means that the Trading Posts' release likely isn't more than a couple of months away. We will update you once an exact release date is confirmed.

Trading Posts in WoW feature cosmetic Transmogs, Mounts, and Pets as rewards. You can purchase the rewards with Trader's Tender, a new currency getting introduced in patch 10.0.5. All the cosmetic item rewards are also displayed at the shops, with Pets at the trader's feet, Mounts in the stable, and Transmogs on mannequins so you can check them out in-game.

Every month, on the 1st, following the release of Trading Posts, new stock will be added. At the time of writing, all the cosmetic item rewards for the first month have not been revealed. However, WoWHead does have an initial list of 16 items from the PTR, which you can view below.
