World of Warcraft new expansion reveal - How to watch, date and time

As World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is slowly winding down following the release of the Eternity's End update, the heroes of Azeroth are anxiously awaiting the next chapter in Blizzard's storied MMORPG. The next expansion for World of Warcraft (likely Dragonflight) will be revealed soon, and we've got you covered so you don't miss out on the upcoming news.

In an official post on World of Warcraft website, Blizzard has shared when the next WoW expansion will be revealed, explaining: "World of Warcraft has ignited imaginations through rich storytelling and expansive worlds that prevail throughout the Shadowlands expansion.

"From the hopeless depths of the Maw to the ethereal plains of Zereth Mortis, the Shadowlands delivers a world that challenges heroes to confront the forces that threaten to upset the cosmic balance between life and death. With the story in the Shadowlands coming to a conclusion, the time is at hand to get a sneak peek at what’s next for the heroes of Azeroth."

The reveal will take place on Tuesday, 19th April 2022 at 09:00 PDT. For those in Europe, that's 18:00 CEST. So how do you watch the new expansion reveal for World of Warcraft? Well, you can head to the official Warcraft YouTube channel, or watch all the action live from the Twitch channel embedded below.

Blizzard notes that the WoW dev team is excited to share what they've been working on, and we have a good idea of what that might be, at least in the form of the expected title of the next WoW expansion...

What is WoW: Dragonflight?

There's a very good chance at this point that the next WoW expansion will be called Dragonflight, and the new area will be called Dragon Isles.

The Dragon Isles was, according to reports, first expected to release as part of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, but that never occurred.

At the time of writing, Blizzard has not officially confirmed the name or new area in the next World of Warcraft expansion. Leaks, however, are strongly suggesting Dragonflight will be the name of the next World of Warcraft expansion.

As per a report by WoWHead, public strings found on the official World of Warcraft website showcase the name Dragonflight. Furthermore, Joey102 in the comments on WoWhead noted that new "Dragonflight" web certifications have been found, and identified the dragonflight.blizzard.com URL. 

So there you have it, the exact date and time, as well as where you can watch the reveal of World of Warcraft's next expansion, which is likely Dragonflight.
