The time has come for the World of Warcraft (WoW) Dragonflight Season 1 Arena World Championship (AWC) to begin. If you are into WoW esports at all, then this should be one of the most exciting AWC showings to date, kicking off 2023 with a bang.

WoW Dragonflight AWC 2023 Season 1 Schedule & Details

First and foremost, the AWC 2023 for WoW Dragonflight Season 1 features both the new Arena, Nokhudon Proving Grounds, and Evokers. Blizzard explains:

Competitors will battle for the title of both the champion of their series and the clan’s greatest warrior in The Nokhudon Proving Grounds, while tackling the tricky terrain that includes ramps, pillars, and a middle wall. Evokers are ready to prove themselves, as these scale-coated-competitors enter the AWC for the first time! 

In terms of the start date for the AWC in WoW Dragonflight Season 1, that’s 20 January 2023 with the first Cup. There are four cups in total, running each weekend until 12 February 2023. Each of these cups has a prize pool of $20,000 to fight for.

AWC Cup Schedule:

  • 20 to 22 January – Cup 1
  • 27 to 29 January – Cup 2
  • 3 to 5 February – Cup 3
  • 10 to 12 February – Cup 4

The 4th to 8th-placed teams in each cup will compete in the AWC Gauntlet ($20,000 on the line) on 31 March 2023, while the top 3 teams from each cup will advance to the Grand Finals, where they will fight for a prize pool of $300,000 from 1 to 2 April 2023.

The format for these cups is Double Elimination, and all matches are best-of-five (BO5). The start time is 18:00 UTC each day.
