With World of Warcraft (WoW)'s next expansion, entitled Dragonflight, comes a host of new features and additions, including a brand-new area called Dragon Isles (with five zones) for heroes of Azeroth to explore. Players will need to reach the new max level for WoW: Dragonflight in order to begin the endgame grind, and there's a specific progression path you will have to take.

In this guide, we outline the exact progression path and share details on what the max character level will be for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight.

What is the max level in WoW: Dragonflight?

Heroes of Azeroth will want to know exactly what the max character level is in WoW: Dragonflight, and thankfully, there's no confusion.

The max level in Dragonflight is 70. Players will have to level up from 60 to 70 in Dragonflight's new area, Dragon Isles. Remember, the Dracthyr Evoker class/race combo starts at level 58 as a "hero class" on its own unique area of Dragon Isles.

All other characters will have to go through the progression path, which we've outlined in the next section of this guide.

There are four levelling zones in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight which players will have to complete in order as they progress through the levelling process. The progression path in WoW: Dragonflight's Dragon Isles region is linear the first time around.

To get to Dragon Isles, players will take a boat from either Stormwind or Ogrimar (depending on your faction) and start off in the Waking Shores. This is the first levelling area that players will need to tackle.

From there, once the main questline of Waking Shores is complete, players will travel to Ohn'ahran Plains.

The next step in the WoW: Dragonflight progression path to get to the max level of 70 is the Azure Span zone, one of the biggest areas in World of Warcraft to date. Here, players will follow the story of Kalecgos as he ventures into Sindragosa’s archives.

Last but not least is the Thaldraszus zone, where players will hit the max level of 70 on their progression path in WoW: Dragonflight. This zone also features the main city hub of the expansion, Valdrakken.

While the first playthrough is linear, subsequent levelling with different characters will provide players with more options. You should be able to explore the four zones in any order you wish, according to reports.

So there you have it, the WoW Dragonflight max level expansion, as well as the expected progression path that players will have to take to level up to 70.
