WoW Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta - How to join and release date

While all World of Warcraft (WoW) players and their pet Murlocs might want to get into the upcoming Dragonflight expansion beta, those who enjoy the Classic servers and content will definitely want to get in the Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta as well.

In this guide, we tell you exactly how you can get a chance of joining the WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta, what the expansion's expected release date window is, and when you can start testing the content. Let's get started, heroes of Azeroth!

How to join Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta

In WoW: WotLK Classic, players will once again venture to Northrend to face the Lich King and fight powerful foes, despite the original Dungeon Finder not being available at launch.

First off, there is no guarantee you will get access to the Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta.

World of Warcraft players can, however, opt-in for a chance at joining the beta test. Follow the steps below.

• Make sure you have an active WoW subscription.
• Head on over to the official WoW: WotLK Classic page.
• Click on the "BETA OPT-IN" button. This will take you to the bottom of the page.
• Click on the "BETA OPT-IN" button again and sign in with your Battle.net account.

You are now all signed up for a chance at joining the WotLK Classic beta test. Players will receive a "Thanks for signing up" message and will have to wait until the beta test for WoW: WotLK Classic release.

You'll also receive news and the latest updates about the game by following the steps above.

WoW: WotLK Classic release date and beta start

At the time of writing, there's no exact release date for the WoW: WotLK Classic beta, nor the full release of the expansion to Classic servers. We do, however, know that the release date window for Wrath of the Lich King Classic is "2022" so it will release this year.

Before the expansion releases in full, we will see a WotLK Classic beta, which you've signed up for following the steps in our previous section. With likely a lot of testing to be done, we expect the WotLK beta's release date to be somewhere between June and August 2022.

There's also the possibility of multiple betas testing various features, dungeons, PvP and raids. Therefore, we suggest everyone who wants to join the WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta sign up as soon as possible.
