New Age Of War Chapter 2 Trailer Adds Revamped Purges, Loot Improvements

The next Age of War is upon us as developer Funcom will bring forth a new Chapter into this brutal saga for console and PC. The Age of War Chapter 2 will be unleashed with a host of new gameplay improvements, optimizations, and new content for Exiled players to behold upon its release.

The game’s developer released the official trailer for the Age of War Chapter 2, granting players a glimpse of what to expect in the forthcoming chapter. The official launch trailer for Conan Exiles Age of War Chapter 2 continues what was introduced in Chapter 1, with some new tweaks as an invasion is on the horizon. Treasure Coffers takes centerstage again in this chapter as players seek to fortify their bases and better their defenses against a Stygian army awaiting to claim the treasures hidden within their base.

This new revamping of the existing PvE combat mode, Purges, will task players with securing their bases and defenses to defend their treasures against those seeking to claim them. This can be initiated once players speak to their treasurer, who will spread the word of their riches and attract unwanted attention, which you’ll have to defend against in waves of high-intensity action.

The Purge will continue until your enemies have captured enough treasure or once you’ve thwarted their efforts to steal your treasures, for which the Hand of War will emerge. Challenge and defeat him and the waves of troops to be declared the victor, and you can bask in the glory by looting chests and other items available.

Additionally, a new NPCv vendor will arrive in the Age of War Chapter 2, Isscar the Sellsword, who can receive the looted treasures in exchange for items he sells. This could be extremely valuable as he may stock up on various defensive equipment and weapons to help turn the tide in successfully defending your base from the Stygians.

Some important optimizations and improvements are included in this update, including improving the loot mechanic to make it more rewarding and engaging. The combat system will also gain some reworking, which will see staggering more effective while directional attacks are more fluid.

As expected, the Bazaar will be refreshed for the new Chapter, where we can see new and returning items from the in-game Shop. Lastly, the Battle Pass will see some new cosmetics added for players to claim, including the Pyramid Building Pieces, Large Treasure Pile, and armor sets like the Aesir Chieftan and Intricate Spite.

The Age of War Chapter 2 update launched on 21st September 2023 across all available platforms. Conan Exiles is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Epic Games Store and Steam.
