Apple Mac Users Lose Access to CS2: How To Request Refund

Come and find out how to request a refund for CS:GO Mac Users
Apple Mac Users Lose Access to CS2: How To Request Refund
Valve

Following the exciting release of Counter-Strike 2, a piece of unfortunate and tragic news has been bestowed upon us: Apple Mac users will have discontinued access to the title. Contrary to Counter-Strike 2, Counter-Strike Global Offensive allowed players with all operating systems and ranges of PCs to enjoy the title, although things aren't quite looking the same with Counter-Strike 2 and the direction Valve is heading.

Despite the harsh and somewhat rash decision made by the Counter-Strike creators, Valve is offering Apple Mac users an opportunity to refund the game to players affected by the discontinuation out of the goodwill of their hearts. The opportunity to refund the game concludes on December 1st, 2023, meaning players have little over a month to have their original purchase returned to them.

Players who obtain skins on their Apple Mac Counter-Strike accounts will not have their inventories affected. However, players will be unable to use the skins on Mac. Therefore, it's highly recommended players sell their skins on a third-party site where they can cash out and potentially purchase a Windows PC to play Counter-Strike 2!

For players wondering how to obtain a refund, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Steam application and log in
  2. Navigate to the top of the application and select "help"
  3. Select "Steam Support"
  4. Find and select the Counter-Strike 2 application on the support page
  5. Select "Gameplay or Technical issue"
  6. Select "I am having another problem"
  7. Select "I would like to request a refund"
  8. Select in the drop-down menu "My PC doesn't meet the system requirements"
  9. In the notes section, type "I own a Mac"
  10. Submit the refund request and wait patiently

After waiting approximately 24 hours, Valve would have looked at your refund request and accepted it. There have been a few reports of players who bought Counter-Strike back in 2013/2014 on Mac, never playing it, and submitting the request being denied. It's being said that players who bought the title more recently or amounted to consistent hours within the game are more likely to have their refund request accepted.
