Sucker Punch Productions are just days away from launching their critically acclaimed action-adventure game, Ghost of Tsushima, for PC this May. The game was first announced in March 2024 via the PlayStation Blog, which confirmed that the Director's Cut was revealed alongside the available content and features included at launch.

Following the recent PlayStation Network (PSN) saga surrounding the third-person squad-based shooter Helldivers 2, naturally excited players have wondered if Ghost of Tsushima will have similar requirements. Sucker Punch clarified this player concern ahead of Ghost of Tsushima's launch on social media, providing details on which of its game content may or may not require a PSN account.

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut will finally arrive on PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam, with pre-orders still available. On the back of the recent controversial Helldivers 2 PSN requirement, which saw the game being review-bombed within 48 hours, Sucker Punch Productions clarified whether Ghost of Tsushima will need a PSN account to access its content.

The developer posted an update regarding this area of concern on their official Twitter account on 3rd May 2024 if a PSN account is needed to play any of the game's content. According to the statement, a PSN account won't be required to play the game's single-player content but will be needed for the "Legends online multiplayer mode and to use PlayStation overlay."

Legends is the game's co-op multiplayer mode, which provides a separate gaming experience from the single-player offering. Instead, it follows "our warriors who have been built up as legends in stories told by the people of Tsushima" with a great emphasis on co-op combat.

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut will launch for PC via Epic Games Store and Steam on 16th May 2024, with pre-orders available before its release. The game will include the base game, the Legends co-op multiplayer mode, the Iki Island expansion, extensive controller support with customizable support for mouse and keyboard, ultrawide monitor support, and more.
