Pokémon GO Ultra Beasts - Buzzwole, Pheromosa, and more

Buzzwole and Pheromosa join the growing list of Pokémon GO Ultra Beasts after Nihilego made a debut during the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 weekend.

With additional Pokémon GO Fest events just around the corner, more Ultra Beasts were finally confirmed as the latest set of additions to the mobile game. In total, Trainers can expect up to three more to be added in the coming weeks, but those dates will depend on your own region.

This announcement comes off the heels of the Nihilego debut during the main Pokémon GO Fest 2022 weekend in early June. At the moment, even having a Nihilego is fairly rare depending on whether you purchased a ticket, and if you were able to complete research or raids. But there will be four Ultra Beasts running around soon enough.

Before you can get your hands on the new Ultra Beasts in Pokémon GO, it's important to note that they will be limited for a short amount of time. Each of the three new Ultra Beasts will be tied to regional Pokémon GO Fest events starting as early as July 1st next week.

These events cost around $25 and are region locked. Only one of the new Ultra Beasts will be available in their assigned regional event as well, so there will be no way to get all three at one time initially. The three events are listed below.

  • GO Fest Berlin: Pheromosa - July 1 to July 3
  • GO Fest Seattle: Buzzwole - Jully 22 to July 24
  • GO Fest Sapporo: Xurkitree - August 5 to August 7

Anyone who is able to participate in those regional events will have the chance to encounter one of the new Ultra Beasts in a Special Research story. Pricing and regional locks will ensure that most Pokémon GO players won't have a chance to get their own though, and catching all three will be nearly impossible.

However, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, and Xurkitree will be available in the game after the GO Fest events come to an end. There have been no official dates given, but the recent blog post stated that they would appear for everyone during the Season of GO.

Beast Balls will be added with Ultra Beasts in Pokémon GO

Once the Ultra Beasts become available for the entire player base, there will also be some new Beast Balls for Trainers to get their hands on. In mainline games, Beast Balls are rare Poké Balls were introduced in Generation VII. Their purpose is designed for catching Ultra Beasts with better odds.

These new items will be given out to the Trainers that attend the GO Fest events as a part of the Special Event research. It's safe to assume they will make their way to the base game after, but we'll have to wait for more information in the coming weeks.
