Apex Legends Season 8: King’s Canyon changes, Fuse’s abilities, and first look at Battle Pass

On 2nd February, the new season of Apex Legends will arrive on the main servers, called Mayhem, it will bring with it explosive and chaotic changes to the game with the arrival of the new Legend, Fuse.

Earlier today, the Apex team at Respawn decided to release a sneak peek of what we will see starting next month, where Fuse's presence will make itself felt both on the map and in this season's Battle Pass.

Apex Legends Season 8: Obliterated King’s Canyon

For Season 8, King’s Canyon will have a major makeover. These changes will affect the northwest zone of the map, improving the rotation of teams in this area, as well as adding a new battleground that was previously inaccessible.

Introducing the Crash Site. During Fuse's arrival, a missed landing blew up parts of King’s Canyon and brought down a massive gunship. As it fell from the sky, it took an entire mountainside with it, so the ship’s final resting spot has opened up a large, previously unplayable, section of the map.

Because of this, a lingering smoke will be seen clear across King's Canyon, where the resulting fuel leak of the ship's impact has contaminated and visually altered most of the area’s water supply. This is why during the season, the ECHO (Ecological Cleanup and Hazard Outreach) team has moved in to help clean up the mess.

The entire scenery inside and outside the ship and the ECHO camps will be accessible for frenzied and closed confrontations, plus the surrounding areas have been modified according to what was caused by the Fuse’s crash.

The impact has also caused the destruction of the underground bunkers in King's Canyon, so these will be replaced by Explosive Holds, small warehouses for weapons and equipment that will be found around this area, and which only require a grenade to access them.

Finally, and as expected, the environment around King’s Canyon has drastically changed, where places full of life or buildings have been reduced to simple wastelands or ruins, which will greatly affect team battles in these areas.

Apex Legends Season 8: Fuse’s abilities

In addition to the changes to King's Canyon, the preview revealed part of Fuse's arsenal of abilities, the new Legend known as the Champion of Salvo.

According to what is shown and a bit of data mining by Shrugtal, his passive ability will allow you to have higher accuracy, range and speed when throwing grenades through his robotic arm.

Additionally, for his ultimate ability, Fuse will use his cannon to make fire rain down on a large area on the ground.

One of his finisher animations has also been unveiled within the trailer, in which Fuse will discreetly throw a grenade towards the back of his enemies which will launch them towards him, where Fuse will be waiting for them for a brutal clothesline with his metal arm.
