There is no doubt that Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed is one of the most famous franchises in the history of gaming. With twelve titles released to this point and still more in the works, it's safe to say that the future of AC is as bright as ever.

Even though a new Assassin's Creed title has been rumored, it appears that's not all Ubisoft has in the works. That's because just recently, important leaks revealed that a remake of the original Assassin's Creed is already in development, here's everything we know so far.

The rumors first began to swirl on 30th August 2022 when prominent and trusted Ubisoft leakers started to tweet out information regarding an upcoming Assassin's Creed remake.

While no exact release date was given by Ubisoft leakers, there was information revealing that the remake of the original Assassin's Creed was set to arrive in Spring 2023. We'll be sure to monitor the situation for further information surrounding the release date.

Assassin's Creed Mirage - What to Expect

In addition to the remake of AC1, the recent Ubisoft leaks highlighted some of the information surrounding the new Assassin's Creed title. If the information in these leaks turns out to be true, Assassin's Creed fans will certainly be delighted with the results.

For years now, fans of the long-running series have clamored for the game developers to get back to the roots of the AC franchise, and this title appears to do just that. The game is set to be called Assassin's Creed Mirage.

Amongst the important points of the AC Mirage leaks, players can expect:

  • The game takes place in Baghdad between the years 870-860, during the Anarchy in Samarra
  • Multiple cities to explore, separated by desert (similar to AC1)
  • Return to basics with strong inspiration from AC1
  • No leveling system
  • No dialogue choice
  • No gender choice
