The first big update for Black Ops Cold War in 2021 is here, and it comes with a lot of exciting content for both BO Cold War and Warzone.

Earlier today, Treyarch has already released the first details about the new Zombies map, Firebase Z, which is scheduled for release on 4th February, but before that, there's a lot of other great content for players to enjoy in all modes.

Without further ado, let's take a look what's everything that's coming in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone with this update and in the coming weeks.

New weapon Wakizashi

Wakizashi is a new cold weapon which is available now (14th January) to both Cold War and Black Ops players.

The Wakizashi is a blade that offers a longer reach in comparison to the standard knife, but it pays that reach by having a slower speed.

The Wakizashi can be unlocked via in-game challenge, and once you unlock it, it can then be levelled up for camos and XP.

There's also a blueprint available, with the new “Disavowed Assassin” Bundle.

New Operator Zeyna

Zeyna Ossou is a new NATO Operator that will be available in both Cold War and Warzone, starting from 21st January.

Two new multiplayer Maps: Sanatorium and Express

The Sanatorium is a Fireteam map, set deep in the Ural Plains, and it is available starting today, 14th January.

"Here in the Urals is a Soviet experimental health retreat – the focus of a clandestine investigation by NATO forces in September 1984. Low wooded hills provide cover for squads to gain reconnaissance over the main, roughly circular-shaped main “hotel”: a concrete, brutalist architectural behemoth flanked by lakeside structures and a large wooden dock."

On 4th February, players will be able to play on another new Multiplayer map, Express.

Express is a map first featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and in Black Ops Cold War it will be a standard 6v6 Multiplayer map.

Alongside new maps, the update also comes with several new modes, including Dropkick, Snipers Only Moshpit, and Endurance Mode for Fireteam.

3v3 Face Off has proven to be quite popular amongst players, so Treyarch has decided to keep it throughout the whole Season 1.

When it comes to Zombies, there's the new Cranked mode, Onslaught Raid, and support for the new Wakizashi sword in Zombies.

With all this new content, you will probably want to start playing immediately, and we have even more great news because starting from today up until 19th January, Double Weapon XP Weekend will be activated, the perfect time to earn attachments for the Streetsweeper or camos for the Wakizashi.
