Will Modern Warfare 3 Be On Xbox One & PS4?

Activision have announced the next entry in the Call of Duty series: Modern Warfare 3. Continuing on from the events of Modern Warfare 2 (2022), players will once again team up with Captain Price & co. to take on more dangerous missions. But a big part of the action comes with the new Multiplayer mode, and the game's integration with Warzone.

For FPS fans, there are few games that house as much history and competition as Call of Duty, having been a staple game across plenty of console generations. But right now we're in a bit of console purgatory: despite current generation consoles being easier to get hold of now, there's still plenty of players happily remaining with the previous gen. Despite this, we're seeing more and more games steadily release for current generation consoles, only. Fewer games are launching across Xbox One and PS4, which makes sense given the heavier demands of newer AAA titles. 

So what about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? With a large portion of the potential playerbase still using last-gen consoles, will MW3 be available on Xbox One and PS4? 

Modern Warfare 3 Xbox One & PS4 Release

According to CharlieIntel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be available on PS4 and Xbox One. The full list of available platforms are: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and Battle.net).  The outlet also claimed that MW3 will be a premium Call of Duty title, and not an expansion as previously thought. The title will cost $70 USD. 

Pre-orders for MW3, across any platform, have yet to go live. Though many are speculating that this will change following the Warzone in-game reveal event taking place on August 17, 2023. At the time of writing, it's unclear exactly what will be included as part of the pre-orders. Many are hoping to see similar offerings to the pre-orders for Modern Warfare 2 last year, which included Early Access to the Campaign, and via the Open Beta.
