What Is Golem Shaping In Conan Exiles Chapter 3?

Golem Shaping is a new mechanic allowing you to craft parts and build your golem. Here’s everything about it in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery Chapter 3.
What Is Golem Shaping In Conan Exiles Chapter 3?

Conan Exiles Age of Sorcery will launch its next chapter for console and PC, which features revamped systems, a new Battle Pass, and the expansion of the update's recent story. This also revolves around the tale of the Ancient Blood of the Giant Kings, the formation of the Blood Crystals, and the practice of Golem Shaping.

But the question remains: What is Golem Shaping in Conan Exiles Chapter 3? And, more importantly, how can you unlock it? While this new gameplay mechanic's use remains unclear, it appears it will allow you to do more than build your golem. This guide explains what the mechanic is and how to unlock and use Golem Shaping in Conan Exiles.

Conan Exiles Chapter 3: Golem Shaping Explained

According to a developer blog post from Funcom, Golem Shaping is a new in-game mechanic with ties to the Giant Kings legend. After visiting the sorcerer, Mek-Kamoses, at Mek-kamoses’ Spire, they will ask you to find a valuable yet rare resource, Blood Crystals, which had been formed over “aeons” as a result of the demise of the Giant Kings.

It’s believed that their ancient blood filtered into the earth, thus beginning a crystallization process that hardened their blood, forming what is known as Blood Crystals. Once collected, you can return to Mek-Kamoses, who will instruct you to find Master Carver Huang, thus teaching you the Golem Shaping mechanic in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery Chapter 3.

How To Unlock Golem Shaping In Conan Exiles Chapter 3

After learning the practice of Golem Shaping, you’ll have access to this mechanic only once you’ve crafted specific workstations: the Golem Workbench and Guardian Assembly Station. Once crafted, you can use the Guardian Assembly Station, which lets you view a UI with slots representing each part of a golem’s body.

You can make the golem’s body parts using the Golem Workbench before bringing them to the Assembly Station and allocating them to their corresponding slots. There are six total slots available: the head, torso, and two sets for arms and legs, but it’s worth mentioning that you don’t need to have all slots filled.

Making these body parts depends on the material used as the more powerful and higher quality materials can produce stronger body parts. As mentioned above, the most valuable resource to use when crafting golem body parts is the Blood Crystals, but, likely, this resource won’t be easy to come by in the game.

Likewise, you can find various golem body parts as randomized loot in Conan Exiles Chapter 3, of which the blueprints or recipes can be found to craft them yourself. Additionally, Master Carver Huang can sell various parts; however, his inventory is limited, so keep that in mind.

To equip your golem with a weapon, you’ll need to make one by crafting an armpiece and attaching it to the arm before slotting it into your golem. Depending on what you wish to use your golem for, whether in combat or farming, the weapon must suit the task or be utilized for both farming and combat. And that's just about everything we know about Golem Shaping in Conan Exiles Chapter 3 right now.

Conan Exiles’ Age of Sorcery Chapter 3 update arrives on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 14th March 2023.
