Dead By Daylight Alien Chapter: New Survivor Ellen Ripley

Dead by Daylight announced its upcoming Alien chapter, including the new Xenomorph killer, but the trailer didn't show a survivor. This left fans wondering who the survivor will be in Dead by Daylight's Chapter 29: Alien. They wondered, will it be an original character, or perhaps Ripley from the Alien franchise? What kind of perks will this new character have, and how will they relate to fans' beloved franchise?

Dead By Daylight Ellen Ripley Perks

Here are Ellen Ripley's three personal perks in Dead by Daylight.

• Lucky Star
  • When you hide in a locker, this perk activates. You leave no pools of blood and make no grunts of pain for 10 seconds. When you exit the locker, you see other survivors and the closest generator’s aura in yellow for 10 seconds. This perk then goes on cooldown for 40/35/30 seconds.

• Chemical Trap
  • After completing 70%/60%/50% progress on any generator, this perk activates. While standing next to a dropped pallet, press the Active Ability Button 2 to install a Trap, which stays active for 100/110/120 seconds. The aura of trapped pallets are revealed in yellow to all Survivors. When the Killer performs the break action on the trapped pallet, the trap explodes, and they are slowed by 50% for 4 seconds.
• Light Footed
  • When you are healthy, this perk activates. Your running footsteps are silent. This perk goes on cool-down for 28/24/20 seconds after doing a rushed action.

Note: All information below is speculation from before the chapter was released; it has now been confirmed that Ellen Ripley is the chapter's survivor. 

Dead By Daylight Alien Chapter Survivor

Dead By Daylight hasn't announced a survivor for the Dead by Daylight: Alien chapter, but it's pretty safe to assume that the chapter will include one; Dead by Daylight's Year 8 Roadmap mentions that Chapter 29 will include both a survivor and a killer. Some leakers have suggested that the new survivor might be Ellen Ripley.

However, the survivor could potentially be one of Behaviour Interactive's original designs, pitting a new character against The Xenomorph. (After all, while Dead by Daylight's Forged in Fog chapter is a collab with For Honor, both the killer and survivor are original characters. We could see a similar collab taking place here, with both a licensed character and an original character fitting into the licensed character's lore.)

Alien's Ripley In Dead By Daylight?

Or, we could get the iconic Ellen Ripley from the Alien franchise, played by Sigourney Weaver.

Since Ripley has obviously starred in numerous films in the Alien franchise, it's possible that we could see her join the Fog with some snazzy new cosmetics.

With all the new survivors like Gabriel Soma and Nicolas Cage getting their own voice lines, it's also highly likely that the Alien chapter's survivor will have some voice lines of their own, perhaps spoken in-game.

Dead By Daylight Alien Chapter 29 Survivor Perks

Just as the survivor for DBD Chapter 29 hasn't been released, we don't yet know their perks, but we can take a guess as to the Alien chapter survivor's perks.

If it's Ripley, the perks will no doubt harp on her skills in the movies. Since Ripley is an engineer, we could see her perks in DBD highlighting this ability and her bravery. For example, she might be able to repair generators more quickly or find her way out of sticky situations, much like she does in the

It's worth noting that it wouldn't be Ripley's first appearance in a multiplayer game; she and The Xenomorph also appear as playable skins in Epic Games' Fortnite.

For now, that's all we know about the upcoming Dead by Daylight: Alien chapter's survivor. We're sure that the killer will be The Xenomorph, but the survivor's identity is still up for speculation.
