Frank will find Survivors in all manner of situations as he tries to survive Willamette Parkview Mall in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. One such Survivor is Leroy McKenna, found in Estelle's Fine-lady Cosmetics in Wonderland Plaza.
Leroy is tied to the Scoop, A Sick Man, which will become active in the morning of the third day. Frank will approach him and discover that Leroy has a strange neck injury. It seems pretty obvious what the wound could be. Regardless, Leroy will attempt to hide the injury from Frank, thinking that Frank will leave him behind.
Should You Rescue Leroy in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster?
Despite it looking very likely that Leroy's injury is a zombie bite, you should still choose to save him and lead him back to the Safe Room. If you lead Leroy to the Safe Room, he actually won't turn into a zombie at anytime during your playthrough. If you're a completionist, you'll need to save Leroy in order for him to count towards your total saved Survivor count.
Interestingly, Leroy does display some signs of zombification once back at the Safe Room. He will display a few animations seen in the zombies, such as scratching his neck. Some characters will also yell at Leroy at times, telling him to get away from them.
How to Save Leroy
As with any Survivor found in Wonderland Plaza, you'll want to have unlocked the short cut. This is done on the first night, by defeating Adam the clown and stopping the Space Rider with the ID Card he drops. As the ride comes to a stop, Greg will appear having been trapped on the ride by Adam. He'll escort Frank to a shortcut in the Wonderland Plaza women's bathroom which will lead straight into Paradise Plaza.
With the shortcut unlocked, saving any Survivor in Wonderland Plaza (including Leroy) is far easier and quicker than cutting across Leisure Park.
