Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is a tricky auto-shooter. While not as inherently satisfying as its Vampire Survivors inspiration, DRG: Survivor offers players a tougher challenge. Unfortunately, that challenge means you'll be dying — a lot.

Thankfully, there are ways to prolong death, namely by keeping your health topped up where you can. To help with that, we've put together a guide that'll tell you exactly how to heal and find health during your dives.

Naturally, as you're running around the depths of an alien mine, harvesting rocks and fighting off the giant bug-like spawn, you're going to take some damage. Luckily, health shouldn't be too far away, it just might not be obvious at first that it is health.

What you'll be looking for is Red Sugar. These appear as glowing red gems that are protruding from the rock. The thing is, they aren't the only red gems/rocks around. The way to identify Red Sugar from the other Red materials (Nitra) in the rock is that it won't be found in clusters. Rather, Red Sugar will be a single red gem/rock that you'll need to mine out of the surrounding generic rock.

You'll also restore a small amount of health each time you level up during your dive, the amount of which you can increase with perks.

Finding Red Sugar shouldn't be too difficult. In fact, you probably would have already found some without realizing what it was. Each level of a dive should offer a decent number of Red Sugar veins to find throughout the level, but you'll need to explore and move around to find them.

Once found, mine away at them as you would any normal rock. It'll take some time, depending on your mining speed, but you'll chip off a handful of Red Sugar which will restore a set amount of hit points (15). You can increase the amount of health restored by Red Sugar by selecting the relevant perk (should it appear) from Supply Drops.
