How to complete Burning Shame seasonal challenge in Destiny 2

Season of the Haunted Week 4 released a new challenge that's proven difficult for many, here's a guide for how to complete Burning Shame in Destiny 2.
How to complete Burning Shame seasonal challenge in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 presents a variety of ways for players to improve their seasonal rank, letting them earn more rewards as a result. Bounties from vendors are perhaps the most consistent way of earning XP and rank reputations depending on who you're planning to focus on.

There are also seasonal challenges, a bit more time-consuming to complete, but ultimately more rewarding. A single seasonal challenge can boost you up to two season pass levels if done during the weekly reset five-level boost window.

Seasonal challenges offer more than XP sometimes, they can net you Bright Dust, and in the case of week 4's Burning Shame. Figments of Darkness. This special currency is needed to upgrade the Crown of Sorrow at the H.E.L.M.

Getting Figments of Sorrow as fast as you can allows you to take advantage of the more interesting upgrades the Crown offers, including extra perks on Opulent or Haunted weapons, the ability to focus them, and more.

The Burning Shame seasonal challenge requires you to complete the Sever-Shame mission while using a Solar subclass, as well as having a Kinetic, Solar, and Stasis weapon equipped.

Keep in mind the following things:

  • Only do the Sever - Shame mission, any other Sever quests won't count for the seasonal challenge
  • Do not utilize a Stasis as your primary. Double-check you have a Kinetic weapon, even those using Special ammo are fine.

For our testing, we used the Tears of Contrition scout rifle as primary (Kinetic), the Sunshot Exotic hand cannon (Solar) as our energy weapon, and the Palmyra-B rocket launcher in our heavy slot (Stasis) and it worked out perfectly.

Inside the mission, you don't have to do anything specific, simply power through it like you normally would. Avoid changing your loadout to cause any confusion and the "seasonal challenge complete" notification should pop up for you as soon as you end the mission.

Remember that upgrading the Crown of Sorrow to the max is required to earn the Season of the Haunted seal. Plus, if you're looking to farm this season's weapons, utilizing Figments of Darkness as soon as you can will give you more time to earn that perfect god roll that you're after.
