Destiny 2 has had various glitches and exploits over the years, but the latest crafting glitch has taken the community by storm. The glitch is providing Exotic weapon perks most unexpectedly.

The in-game flaw is so crazy that Bungie has released a statement giving users the freedom to exploit it. In this guide, we will discuss the Destiny 2 crafting glitch and how you can take full advantage of it.

How To Use Destiny 2 Crafting Glitch

Players can merge weapons with unique properties, resulting in incredible combinations. Here is how you can use it.

  • Locate the Weapons Crafting Table: To get started, you’ll need to head over to the weapons crafting table in the enclave.

  • Select Your Weapons: Choose a weapon you want to merge with another. Here comes the tricky part: quickly switch to another weapon by clicking on it as fast as humanly possible. Remember, speed is key here. You’ll need to perform this switch in a split second to exploit the glitch.

  • Use Key-bindings (PC): If you’re playing Destiny 2 on a PC, we recommend using the WASD key combination to help switch. This will help you switch between weapons with speed.

  • Performance Changes: To make executing the glitch easier, try to reduce the game’s performance as much as possible. You can do this by capping your frame rate at 30 FPS or running resource-intensive applications in the background. The goal is to create more time for the weapon switch. So, make your processor work as hard as possible to give you the maximum time.

If you follow the above steps successfully, you’ll notice that the second weapon you selected will now possess the origin trait from the first weapon.

For example, if you switch from Osteo Striga Exotic to Ikelos, the Ikelos submachine gun will have Osteo Striga's Screaming Swarm perk. Yes, it is hilarious.

Now, for the best part: The glitch works just as effectively in PvP as in PvE. This means you can bring these combinations into Trials or other competitive game modes.

Note: Bungie is aware of this glitch and will eventually fix it in the future. It’s best to keep that in mind while exploiting it. The possibilities are endless, but once they fix the glitch, your weapons will revert back. It’s best not to invest too much time and effort in it.
