The Rite of Sanctuary is a new theme introduced in Diablo 3 Season 28. It introduces a brand new skill tree of unique perks and abilities that players can gain as they unlock 26 seals, but knowing which skills to unlock first and in which order to unlock them can be daunting.

Luckily, you don't have to worry about that, as this guide will aid you in making your decision. We'll show you the best Altar of Rites path to use, allowing you to get the most out of the new Rite of Sanctuary system in Diablo 3 Season 28.

Diablo 3 Altar of Rites - Best Unlock Order

In case you're a new player or just want a refresher, the Rite of Sanctuary is just the name of the new skill tree introduced in Season 28 of Diablo 3. This new skill tree is accessed by finding the Altar of Rites in the Festering Woods near Tristram. Once interacted with, you'll see that you can unlock 26 Seals as well as 3 bonus potions, which, when unlocked, will grant you a final bonus one.

The order in which you unlock the Seals will play a huge role in your progression throughout the game, so below, we've put together the best unlock order for Altar of Rites Seals in Diablo 3 Season 28. The order was curated with the help of YouTuber Filthy Casual, so be sure to head over to support their channel and check out their full video on the unlock path at the end of this article. 

Order Letter Skill/Effect
1 A Your Kill Streak timer duration and reward bonus are doubled.
2 C Items have no level requirement.
3 B Pools of Reflection last for the entire Season and are not removed by death.
4 G Increase damage against elites by 15%.
5 H Picking up Health Globes grants a shield for 5% of your maximum health for 7 seconds. Max stacks 5.
6 J Increases your highest elemental skill damage bonus by 10%.
7 O Double the amount of Bounty Caches that drop from completing bounties.
8 S Gain immunity to crowd-controlling effects.
9 T Gain passability.
10 Z Double the chance to find a legendary item purchased from Kadala.
11 R +15% Damage
12 V Elite packs drop one additional progress orb.
13 U Pets pick up Death's Breath.
14 X Pets pick up and salvage common, magic, and rare items.
15 D +200 Damage
16 I +25% Melee Damage Reduction.
17 L +10% Damage
18 F +25% Movement Speed (Uncapped)
19 K Increase damage against elites by 20%.
20 Q Reduces the damage taken from elites by 25%.
21 W Increase damage done to Bosses by 25%.
22 Y Increase your chance to Dodge by 15%.
23 P Progress orbs from Nephalem and Greater Rifts are picked up automatically.
24 E +25% Missile Damage Reduction
25 N Critical hits grant resource: Mana: 15, Hatred: 5, Wrath: 5, Arcane Power: 3, Fury: 3, Spirit: 5, Essence: 5.
26 M Double the amount of Death's Breaths that drop.
Player dependant Potion AA When you drink your health potion, you manifest one of three runic circles on the ground that grant increased damage, increased cooldown reduction, or increased resource cost reduction.
Player dependant Potion AB When you drink your health potion, all enemies within 25 yards deal 25% less damage.
Player dependant Potion AC When you drink your health potion, gain a random shrine or pylon effect.
Player dependant AD When a primal item drops, a second random primal item drops as well.

The final four items can be unlocked at your leisure, depending on what you want first, but the order in which we've recommended you unlock the previous 26 Seals is vital as you'll benefit from them in that order as you climb through the levels and get stronger.

The Seals are connected to another one, meaning that you need to unlock the previous seal to access the next one along the skill tree. They also each come at their own cost, so before diving into the best unlock order, be sure to check out the prices of each Seal so you can keep track of what resources you need to unlock the next one.
