We've all been there; spending hours in character creation, thinking everything looks great, only to get into the main game to find that your character looks a little funky. In Dragon's Dogma 2, you run the risk of doing this twice as you'll be creating not only your own Arisen, but main Pawn as well.

Fortunately, your characters' appearance isn't permanent and there are ways to give them a brand new look. This ranges from a new hairstyle to a complete rework of their entire appearance.

To change the appearance of your main character, or Arisen, there are two merchants that you'll need to visit depending on how much you wish to change.

If you're happy with how your character generally looks, but just want to change some minor features such as hairstyle or makeup, then you'll need to head to the Barberie, which is indicated by the scissors icon on the map.  You can purchase the following services:

  • Change Hairstyle - 10,000 Gold
  • Adjust Makeup - 10,000 Gold
  • Give Markings - 10,000 Gold
  • Change Multiple - 25,000 Gold

But, if you want to change your entire appearance, you're going to need to bring an additional item to the Barberie — the Art of Metamorphosis.

This item can be purchased at the Pawn Guild. In Venworth, this is the Venworth Pawn Guild found in the Merchant Quarter. It's the building that contains the Riftstone. Look for the merchant at the side of the room and see what he has to offer. You'll be able to purchase the Art of Metamorphosis for 500 RC. This is the currency you'll earn from various activities around the world, and for having your main Pawn help out other players.

Purchase the Art of Metamorphosis then head back to the Barberie. You can then choose to apply it to your Arisen, or your Main Pawn. Regardless of what you choose, you'll be able to edit the character from scratch, from a preset, or from the current appearance. You'll also be able to edit your character's voice.

If you want to change the personality of your main pawn, and they're voice, you'll need to purchase the modification from the Pawn Guild. Here, you'll be looking for Rift Incense, which will allow you to change your main Pawn's personality to match the respective incense. These are:

  • Ambivalent Rift Incense - 500 RC
  • Kindhearted Rift Incense - 2000 RC
  • Calm Rift Incense - 2000 RC
  • Simple Rift Incense - 2000 RC
  • Straightforward Incense - 2000 RC

Once purchased, use them on your main Pawn to alter their personality to the respective Incense.
