FIFA 22 crossplay test - consoles, modes, how to enable

While FIFA 22 didn't innovate a lot in terms of gameplay, EA Sports is ready to implement the franchise's biggest update in a long time with the inclusion of crossplay. 

The FIFA 22 crossplay test will include all major platforms, however, it'll be restricted to certain modes, with Ultimate Team out of the beta period.

Implementing crossplay for FIFA Ultimate Team would mean a substantial change to how the mode is played, starting with prices on auctions and cards, which would have to be unified as they vary depending on console. Regardless, this crossplay test is undoubtedly paving the way for FIFA 23.

EA Sports posted a detailed FAQ on their website. In it, they explain players don't have to do anything in particular to access the crossplay test.
The main menu will update with a new prompt, set to be on the bottom right side of the screen, that will allow players to simply turn off and on the crossplay features of FIFA 22. Take a look at the image down below.

The crossplay test will be available on the following consoles:

• PlayStation 5
• Xbox Series SIX
• Google Stadia

Sadly, crossplay won't come to last-gen consoles.

There will be two modes with crossplay features enabled, Online Seasons and Online Friendlies. 

"While we want to enable our players to play with as many friends and others as possible, we limited the test to these two modes with the aim of reducing the chance of introducing new issues into the game," EA explained.

With the new update, a new menu will be available for players to add friends using their platform or EA usernames.

Once you've added them, they'll show up on your friends list, from where you can invite them to Online Friendlies. 

FIFA 22 crossplay test - Start date

At the moment, we don't have an official start time for the FIFA 22 crossplay test. EA Sports simply stated that it will start "in the near future."
