Given the recent success of the initial two parts of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, numerous players are now eagerly anticipating updates on the impending release of the concluding chapter. Despite the sluggish pace of news and fans' tempered expectations regarding a swift release, the company's director has made intriguing remarks hinting at a potential timeframe.

If you're also eagerly anticipating the grand finale paying homage to the original Final Fantasy 7 masterpiece, you're in luck. Here's the current information we have regarding the hinted release window for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Director Hints at Release Date for Part 3

During the recent launch of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Ultimania book, Yoshinori Kitase, a Square Enix executive and the original director of Final Fantasy 7, shared insights into the trilogy's development, highlighting an interesting detail. According to Yoshinori, as translated, the game "Rebirth" was completed "within 3 years," following a year dedicated to the development of FF7 Remake’s DLC.

He expressed a desire to maintain this timeline for Part 3, offering fans a preliminary indication of the anticipated release date. Based on this three-year timeframe, along with the gap between the release of Remake in 2020 and Rebirth in early 2024, we anticipate Part 3 could potentially debut in early 2027 at the earliest, or by 2028 if Rebirth receives DLC similar to "Intermission."

Yoshinori also attributed staff retention to Rebirth’s "efficient development period" and affirmed that Part 3 "will also have the same team," ensuring smooth progress. As for the current status of Part 3's development, Tetsuya Nomura, director of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and creative director of Rebirth, mentioned in Ultimania that the main story is finished, with voice recording likely to commence soon.
