It looks like the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 update brought back the ability to bunny hop, but now players are wondering if it was an accident by Epic Games.

The Chapter 3 Season 3 update in Fortnite just shook up the battle royale, and it's safe to say the title remains one of the most popular around the world. Players were treated to tons of new content as well as the return of popular items which were previously vaulted.

One of the more interesting surprises of Chapter 3 Season 3 was that the jumping after sliding looks to have been seriously buffed. Here's what everyone's talking about as many are wondering if the bunny hop feature might have been boosted by accident.

Part of the recent Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 update involved changes to the slide mechanic. Sliding has been a very well-received feature as it provides so much more tactical ability when engaging in contact with other players. The Chapter 3 Season 3 changes to sliding allow players to now perform uninterrupted slides. With this ability, slides can now chain together speed boosts as players slide down hills and similar elevation drops.

While the sliding adjustment seems to be well-received amongst Fortnite fans, it has also resulted in a change to jumping. Players have discovered that jumping directly after sliding downhill allows for serious bunny hopping capabilities that look and feel improved from previous seasons.

How to bunny hop in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

If you're looking to put this new bunny hop/sliding jump mechanic into practice, it's a very simple process. For best results, sprint and begin sliding down a hill to pick up speed, then jump just as you're about to reach the flat ground.

You will experience boosted jumping ability for your next few movements, somewhat similar to the hop-rock effect from previous Fortnite seasons. At the time of writing it's unclear whether or not Epic Games meant for the sliding changes to result in boosted jumping abilities, or if this was simply an accidental consequence of the title update. But for the time being, it's certainly a great feature to use in a myriad of situations.
