Fortnite - How to complete Lantern Trials to win free rewards

After first debuting in 2021, the Lantern Trials have returned to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 2. Anyone who participates in the trials has the opportunity to earn some free rewards, but there are some steps that need to be followed first.

Unlike most of the in-game events that are hosted in Fortnite, the Lantern Trials require players to sign up before collecting any rewards or tracking progress. This is done through the main Fortnite website, which is an extra annoying step, but the process is quick, and you can participate within minutes.

The Lantern Trials - How to earn free rewards in Fortnite

To earn free rewards through the Lantern Trials in Fortnite, the first step is to go to the official website. In the sign-up, there is a long list of accounts that you can use as long as they are tied to your Fortnite account. Select one, or sign in manually, and you can begin tracking the stats for the event.

Each day of the event will contain a new reward, and in total, there are five days of Lantern Trials for the community to participate in. If you miss a day, that reward will no longer be available, so it's important to participate if you want to collect everything.

To unlock the rewards themselves, you must earn at least one point on a given day. Earning a point is based on a specific challenge. For example, earning a kill on day one will give players one point. The tasks will likely change as the event changes each day.

There are two major rewards that are earned in a separate manner from the daily emoticons in the trials. To earn the back bling and the weapon camo, you will need to complete a stretch goal of the day.

Stretch goals in the Lantern Trials are essentially just much longer versions of the daily task. If earning the basic goal only requires one elimination on day one, the stretch goal will require 35. Just like the dailies, the stretch goal must be completed before the day ends.

Completing one stretch goal will reward you with the Leadlight weapon wrap. Taking on two stretch goals will reward you with the Dream Lantern back bling. The daily rewards are all cosmetic emoticons that can be used in-game, rather than weapon/character cosmetics.

That's all there is to know about the Lantern Trials in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2. Make sure to keep track of the tasks each day, we'll be sure to keep you in the loop over on our dedicated Fortnite page.
