Via the Fortnite Status Twitter account, Epic revealed they are currently looking into this issue in hopes of finding a swift solution to the problem.

Fortnite Season 5: Long loading times on Xbox and PlayStation
Many console users, via social media, have reported these extremely painful loading times as they try to enjoy Season 5 of Fortnite.
Omg im actually about to get mad @FortniteGame @FortniteStatus every single game i get infinite loading screen and I try to avoid it by readying up in game and it doesn't even work I actually wanna play the game and now I barely can plus the game takes 5 times as long to load

At the moment, there is no current fix other than waiting patiently for the game to let you back into a lobby.
