- The game has moved to the new Unreal Engine's Chaos physics - promising bug fixes and better performance.
- Launchpads are back but only in non-competitive playlists
- Two-week 'Love and War' Challenges and Rewards with brand new Search and Destroy LTM
The Fortnite v11.50 update is LIVE and the headline news is Launch Pads are back! Fans of the BR have been crying out for a mobility item after they were stripped from the game with the release of Chapter 2 in October. The games competitive players will, however, be disappointed as Epic has decided, at the moment, to only introduce them to non-competitive playlists.

The move to the Unreal Engine's Chaos physics is expected to drastically improve performance and bugs - with many hoping that 'wall phasing' a bug where players can push through opponents walls without destroying them will finally be fixed.
The update also sees the introduction of the community-made Search and Destroy LTM and Love and War event which will run for two weeks until the start of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2.
Love and War (Search and Destroy LTM) - Rewards and Challenges
The v11.5 update brings with it a new community-created game mode - the Search and Destroy LTM.
It's a game mode that will feel familiar to players of CS:GO with it having a similar format to Demolition.
- Teams are made up of 6 players.
- Attackers have to plant a bomb at certain locations while defending players have to stop them. If a team is eliminated they lose.
- Players earn gold by eliminating enemies, playing or defusing bombs and completing rounds. Gold can be used to purchase weapons, shields and additional building materials.
- Your gold carries over from round to round but resets after switching sides.
- Games can go up to 11 rounds with victory achieved when one team wins 6.
Love and War Cosmetics
The new Love and War cosmetics can only be unlocked through the Search and Destroy LTM and include new gun skins, skateboarder backblings and emotes.
Love and War also have brand new skins which are now available from the Item Shop.

- In non-competitive playlists, the Launch Pad has been unvaulted.
- Implemented Unreal Engine’s Chaos physics system, mentioned previously here.
- At launch, our goal is to ensure that Fortnite still feels like what you would expect. We’ll be closely monitoring your feedback from the in-game Feedback tool for any issues you may be experiencing.
- To report issues via the in-game Feedback tool, select Feedback in the main menu and choose Bug. We encourage you to put “Physics” in the subject line and include a concise message in the body that accurately describes the issue(s) you’re experiencing.
