Amassing XP can feel like a grind in Fortnite, so is there a way to earn some while AFK? Here's what you need to know.
How Do You Get XP While AFK In Fortnite Creative?

Whether it's the start of a new season, or the final stretch of one, the need to gain XP and progress through the battle pass remains every urgent in Fortnite. Fortunately, Epic Games have made it fairly easy to earn XP, with players able to gain various amounts through almost every activity. So, if you're playing battle royale mode, you should have no trouble progressing — but it does take a while.

If you haven't got all the time in the world to play Fortnite continuously, you might be wondering if there's a way to earn XP by doing next to nothing at all. For that, some players have looked to Fortnite Creative for inventive ways to earn XP while being AFK (away-from-keyboard). For some, that might seem like easy XP farming, and it does kinda take away from the fun of Fortnite. But hey, each to their own.

Can You Earn XP While AFK In Fortnite Creative?

In short, yes you can. But this is done in various ways that take advantage of XP glitches across certain Creative maps. The purpose of these maps is for AFK XP farming and alleviates some of the grind when it comes to XP, letting players earn some juust for being in the map.

Best AFK XP Farming Fortnite Creative Maps: Island Codes

The are two Creative maps that are especially effective for AFK XP farming though, keep in mind, they're subject to any change that Epic Games may roll out across Fortnite Creative. What works for AFK XP farming now might not work in the future, so don't take it as a guarantee.

1v1 Mythic Build Fights Map: 1312-6123-7523

This map presents itself as a 1v1 action map, but it also acts as a great map to earn XP on owing to its use of an XP glitch. To earn AFK XP while on this map, players should do the following:

  • Set the map to Private and load in.
  • You'll natually start generating small amounts of XP overtime without doing anything.

Previously, players had to interact with this map in the following ways:

  • Follow the vending machines until you see a dispensing Grappler
  • Interact with the Grappler and enter the passcode: 5252-1751-0646
  • You'll see a secret button to interact with
  • Head back to the vending machine that sells Pulse Rifles
  • Locate the other hidden button behind this vending machine and interact with it.

Though there were a few steps involved with this map, players earned a good amount of XP from the first button, and then an even greater output from the second. Now, it seems players simply have to exist in the map to earn XP.

Free-For-All With All Weapons Map: 9025-5568-7074

This free-for-all map is marketed as being just for fun, and a little bit of harmless chaos, but you can also earn some easy XP. To do so, players should do the following:

  • Load into the map, jump down into the main arena and enter the structure in the middle.
  • Interact with a button labeled "XP Shop"
  • Hang out here and roughly every ten minutes you'll earn XP. There's also a bunch of activities to do, such as eliminating chickens for gold coins that can then be traded for even more XP.

Previously, this map operated in a more AFK XP-friendly way:

  • Head to the "XP Shop" and enter the room with the Durr Burger Head
  • Turn left and position your character right in the corner of the room.
  • You could spot a secret button to interact with.
  • You chould earn a hefty amount of XP over a few minutes, which was repeatable AFK.

There are plenty of other XP maps to help you progress through the battle pass, but keep in mind that they're subject to change over time.
