Exploits are common in any multiplayer game, and Fortnite is no stranger to it. Every now and then, a player would discover a way to exploit a weapon or equipment to their advantage in the battle royale game.
The latest weapon to fall victim to exploits in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 is the fan-favorite Shockwave Hammer. Earlier today, the official Fortnite Status Twitter account revealed that the Shockwave Hammer is being temporarily disabled in all playlists.
According to the post, the removal is "due to an issue," and while Epic Games didn't clarify any further, we have a pretty good idea about why the Shockwave Hammer was disabled in Fortnite.
Fortnite Shockwave Hammer Glitch Explained
The Shockwave Hammer in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 may have been disabled because of the infinite bounce glitch that many players were using to quickly get around the map and smack other players to death.
As spotted and shared by Youtuber Dagwummy, if you bounce in the water while wielding the Shockwave Hammer, your normal jumps become a super jump. While it's fun to look at, it's infuriating being at the receiving end.
Earlier this week, many players took to Twitter to share their frustrations.
Thankfully, with the Shockwave Hammer now disabled, everyone can once again have a fair chance at snagging the crown.
