Where To Find Ghost Buried Chest In Fortnite

Fortnitemares 2023 is here, bringing with it all sorts of quests, rewards, and cosmetic skins. This year, players can take part in Horde Rush, a returning LTM, to complete special quests and earn rewards. Fortnitemares also has a series of quests for players to complete around the battle royale island.

One such quest tasks players with locating and searching a Ghost Buried Chest (or a Rare Chest, if you find one of those first). But not every player might know what a Ghost Buried Chest is, or where to find one. Below, we'll go over what you need to know about Ghost Buried Chests in Fortnite.

Fortnitemares 2023: What Are Ghost Buried Chests In Fortnite?

Ghost Buried Chests in Fortnite are actually the same as Buried Chests, except that this time they'll be themed around Fortnitemares and found at certain locations. As you're roaming around the map, you may stumble upon a Ghost pointing in a certain direction. What they're actually pointing at is Buried Chests. 

Given that Ghost Buried Chests are rare spawns, you can expect to find yourself some Rare or better items inside. If you're looking for Legendary weapons, then a Ghost Buried Chest offers a great chance at getting one.

Fortnitemares 2023: Where To Find Ghost Buried Chests In Fortnite?

There are a number of areas on the map where Ghost Buried Chests can spawn. The highest concentration can be found in Brutal Bastion, where roughly 19 Buried Chests are typically located. Of course, this is a major and dangerous POI, so you might want to try some of the lesser populated locations.

A selection of Ghost Buried Chests can be found south of Shattered Slabs, just where the biomes begin to change. Search along the border for the chance to stumble across a chest.

More can also be found between Brutal Bastion and Slappy Shores, again where the biomes begin to change. Try searching along the ice cliff edge for a better chance at finding a Ghost Buried Chest.
