Genshin Impact Cyno – Release Date, Voice Actor, Story

Genshin Impact 3.1 update marks the long-awaited appearance of the 5-star Electro character Cyno, a character that first appeared in the game's manga. As a scholar and General Mahamatra for the Sumeru Akademiya, he's steadfast, transparent, and stoic in his actions with fellow researchers and residents across the region.

Outside of his stoic persona, Cyno has a more relaxed and off-beat personality that surprises many as he spends time dedicated to his card collecting. We'll be learning more about General Mahamatra, Cyno, and what we can anticipate from him when the 3.1 update arrives.

Genshin Impact 3.1 – Cyno Release Date

The 5-star Electro character, Cyno, will debut at the launch of Genshin Impact 3.1 on 28th September 2022. The polearm wielder will be available through Phase I of the update's Character Event Wish banner, where Travelers can use their Intertwined Fate to Wish for him should they be lucky enough to pull the character.

Genshin Impact 3.1 – Cyno Story

According to an in-game description based on Tighnari's response to Collei about Cyno, he's a highly regarded and respected figure at the Akademiya. Nevertheless, a visit from him usually strikes fear amongst researchers as his meetings don't go well.

"Many researchers at the Akademiya fear that the General Mahamatra will interfere with their research. However, it seems that they are worrying about nothing. Most of them do not produce results worthy of his visit."

As the General Mahamatra and Judicator of Secrets, Cyno remains steadfast in his duties to uphold the law and "help people 'remember' the mistakes they have made."

While it's encouraged that those receiving a visit from him face disciplinary action, some failed to accept their fate, either bribing or exerting force but to no avail.

Outside of his duties, Cyno enjoys more relaxing hobbies, including making jokes with close friends, and happens to be a card collector. Nevertheless, Travelers will learn more about him in his first Story Quest, Lupus Aureus Chapter: Act 1, arriving in the Genshin Impact 3.1 update.

Cyno has played a massive role in the Genshin Impact manga as he comes to the aid of Collei to assist Lisa in treating Collei's ailments.

In the final chapter of the manga series, he travels to Sumeru with Collei to train her about medicine and the world of Teyvat; it appears that Cyno has remained nearby Collei since the events of the manga had transpired.
