Broom flying allows you to explore the surroundings of Hogwarts Castle with stunning views to behold. This does mean you need to unlock a flying broom early in the game to be granted access to the Spintwitches Sporting Goods shop to make your first broom purchase.
Like robes and wands, broomsticks have plenty of options; however, their stats are the same for all, but a few best-looking brooms stand tall and can be upgraded. We explore what is considered the best broomstick to own in Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy Brooms, Ranked
In Hogwarts Legacy, there are 13 known broomsticks you may acquire as you can swap out to select one based on personal preferences. But to be the fastest student on a broomstick in Hogwarts, progress with the main story quests and complete the Broom Trials, which unlock after completing the Flight Test side quest, where completing them unlocks upgrades for your broomstick.
Regardless of what broom you wish to upgrade, it will technically be the best one to have in-game, but a few stand out from the rest. The Hogwarts House Broom would be a good choice as this broom, according to its in-game description, is “enchanted with your particular House pride,” which feels important to support your house while flying.
The Bright Spark Broom is a worthy consideration as it boasts a beautiful sleek yet modern finish, but it requires you to pop balloons found throughout Hogwarts to unlock it. There’s the Silver Arrow Broom, which requires you to find the NPC, Arn, and complete the Carted Away quest to unlock him and buy the broom from him.

But by far, the Night Dancer Broom is considered the preferred choice by many, which combines modern design and an elegant finish. The Night Dancer Broom can be acquired by popping balloons scattered throughout Hogwarts before heading to Spintwitches Sporting Goods in Hogsmeade to receive broom upgrades only after the Broom Trails are completed.
The first upgrade will set you back around 1,000 Galleons, the second will cost you 4,000 Galleons, and the final upgrade will cost you 7,500 Galleons. Included in the upgrades is a boost for your broom’s acceleration and speed eventually to its maximum, for which you can test it out at one of the many Landing Platforms found across the map. You can also complete its related Challenges to receive rewards which will assist your progression toward the Collector’s Edition Trophy or Achievement.
