Will Hogwarts Legacy Be Cross-Platform?
Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy will not be cross-platform as the game focuses on a single-player experience, with no co-op options of any kind. This means players won't be able to play with friends using disparate platforms. Likewise, based on what we know so far, Hogwarts Legacy won't support cross-progression either, meaning you can't switch out your console and continue from where you left off previously.
Will Hogwarts Legacy Add Cross-Play In The Future?
There are some rumors that Hogwarts Legacy may support cross-progression between PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles or that more cross-functionality may be added in the future. However, this is yet to be confirmed by the developers, so take that information with a grain of salt.
While the game will sadly not feature any of these cross-play and cross-platform features, many players and critics are still excited for the game to drop as it's likely been finely tuned and designed to enhance the single-player experience. So regardless of whether you can play with friends, you'll hopefully be getting a worthwhile product you can enjoy as you venture into the magical world of the Harry Potter franchise.
Avalanche Studios will likely be updating the game soon, so we might receive some more functionality as the game grows after its release. In addition, the developers will release regular updates, bug fixes, and a Day One patch, which will go live when the game drops.
