Relics in Honkai Star Rail are a core component when it comes to character building. Equipping the right Relics with the right stats on the right units is what will allow your characters to become even stronger and take on more challenging content.

Depending on the type of Relic and the corresponding set bonus, characters can have a completely different play style, allowing you to make your characters truly unique. Farming and enhancing Relics is a key gameplay loop in Honkai Star Rail, but there is something else players can do with their Relics - Salvage them.

So, if you want to learn more, you've come to the right place. This article will cover everything you need to know about Salvaging Relics in Honkai Star Rail, including how to do it, if it's worth it, and more.

Salvage in Honkai Star Rail is a way to delete unwanted Relics from your inventory and acquire currency based on the Relic you disenchanted. With limited inventory space and a randomized gearing system, it is no surprise that a lot of the Relics players acquire in this game will be of little to no value.

Whether these Relics have poor main stats, poor sub-stats, or a combination of both, it is better to remove these items from your inventory so they stop taking up space.

Thankfully, there is a reward for Salvaging Relics in Honkai Star Rail. This comes in the form of Lost Fragments, which can be used to level up other Relics, allowing you to get some of the value back from a Salvaged piece.

You should Salvage any Relics you don't plan on using in Honkai Star Rail. Lost Fragments provide the same amount of EXP to upgrade a Relic if you were to use the foddered piece as an upgrade material anyway. This means there is no downside to Salvaging any Relics in Honkai Star Rail. Naturally, the only Relics you do not want to Salvage are those that you might consider using on future characters.

The main benefit of Salvaging Relics over using the same Relics as upgrade material directly is that Lost Fragments do not take up any inventory space. Lost Fragments can be saved and used when you acquire a really good piece of gear. Whereas, if you had to clean out your inventory to make some space and chose to use a Relic as upgrade fodder directly, you would need to, perhaps, upgrade random Relics you aren't that fond of.
