League of Legends Skarner VGU Rework Release Date News

League of Legends is well known for its impressive and large roster of champions to choose from, and some have been around for quite some time. That being the case, the developers strive to keep characters updated, both mechanically, and visually, by implementing VGUs (Visual and Gameplay Updates). 

Now, players are looking forward to the next character scheduled for a VGU, Skarner. So in this guide, we'll cover the Skarner VGU release date as well as what we can expect once it does release. 

League of Legends - Skarner VGU Release Date

At the time of writing Riot Games has confirmed that the Skarner VGU is scheduled for release, but has not indicated a specific release date or release window. The focus is to make the champion better than before and make him a viable pick when it comes to standing on equal grounds and balancing well with the plethora of other champions in the game.

Most VGUs are focused on either aesthetic upgrades, mechanical changes, or both, and with Skarner it appears that the developers want to do both, which makes it understandable as to why the champion is taking some time to get updated. According to the developers, they have been hard at work tweaking and fixing the champion, trying to balance the look of a scorpion with a crystal aesthetic, as well as other mechanisms involved in his kit. 

When it comes to abilities, we are unsure of how they will change the champion's kit, which abilities will be kept, which ones will be taken out, or even if some new ones will be created to give the champion more depth. And while all this may leave you a bit disappointed since we still don't know when the character will be updated, there is some upcoming news that may give us answers.

In a recent developer interview posted by the official League of Legends Twitter page, we were given an update on the champion updates coming soon among other things. Champions such as Rell, Neeko, Ivern, and of course Skarner were mentioned as focal points at the moment. 

The developers then went on to state that a blog post would be coming soon that will contain more information on when Skarner would be getting his VGU, among other updated details, so right now, we'll just have to wait and see for more information on Skarner's VGU release date.
