How to get and use the Token of Protection in Lost Ark

Lost Ark's latest content update saw the introduction of the South Vern continent as players started progressing through its content to access the Tier 3 endgame content. One of the early endgame activities you can participate in is the weekly Chaos Line dungeon tied to a Roster Quest.

This Roster Quest requires an item, the Token of Protection, but many are having trouble locating and acquiring this item. This guide explains how to get and use the Token of Protection in Lost Ark.

How to get the Token of Protection in Lost Ark?

The Token of Protection serves as an entrance ticket to access the Chaos Line dungeon on South Vern. As you'll need only one Token of Protection for this type of dungeon, obtaining it isn't as straightforward as many believe.

Players have been struggling in locating just one; however, it is attached to a Roster Quest, I Must Protect, in which you can receive two Tokens of Protection for free. This can be collected from an NPC, Professor Farhat; however, you'll need to unlock his services first before you can unlock the Roster Quest and gain the tokens.

Firstly, you'll need to complete all the newly added content for South Vern, including the main story questline, before travelling to Vern Castle. While at Vern Castle, you'll need to speak with an NPC Magick Scholar Jeneca, at the Military District, which will trigger the I Must Protect Roster Quest.

Some have reported issues of this NPC not appearing or receiving the Roster as mentioned above Quest. A Roster Quest can be picked up at Neria's Tavern, which can be completed before heading back to Jeneca at the Military District, which should trigger the quest by then.

This particular Roster Quest will require you to speak with Professor Farhat, located west of the Chaos Line dungeon entrance. Not only can you unlock the Token of Protection after conversing with him, but you'll receive two free tokens weekly.

How to use the Token of Protection in Lost Ark?

Once you have cleared out the South Vern content, travelled to North Vern to trigger the Roster Quest and spoken with Professor Farhat, you should have received two free Tokens of Protection weekly. Only one token can be used, which serves as your entry into the Chaos Line dungeon for the I Must Protect Roster Quest weekly.

You'll notice that the Chaos Line dungeon can only be completed once a week so that you can receive two free tokens from this NPC. Additionally, before entering the Chaos Line dungeon, you'll need to meet the Recommended Item Level requirement of 1370 and have a Combat Level requirement of 50 and higher.

Using the Token of Protection, you can enter the dungeon and clear out the enemies while keeping in mind the objectives for the Roster Quest. To progress with the Roster Quest, you'll need to acquire the Soundstone while defeating all enemies near the Chaos Line.

While you can receive Mission XP upon completing the Roster Quest, clearing the weekly Chaos Line dungeon can reward you with the Fragmented Bloodmagick Stone. This item can be exchanged with Professor Farhat for other notable rewards, mainly chests, once you acquire enough Fragmented Bloodmagick Stones.
