Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Release Date Confirmed
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 release date confirmed as 20 October 2023.
Original article follows: At the time of writing, there is no firm release date for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, but Insomniac Games has confirmed that the game will be released in 2023. Given that we're expecting God of War Ragnarok towards the end of 2022, as well as a Remaster of The Last of Us, we believe Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will arrive in late 2023.
It's also worth noting that the game could be pushed back. We know Sony isn't afraid to give their tentpole games more time if they need it, and with Insomniac Games also working on Marvel's Wolverine at the same time, we wouldn't be surprised if one of the two games is delayed until 2024.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Trailer
But while we wait, we have quite a bit to look forward to. The trailer for the game was released during Sony’s PlayStation Showcase event in September 2021. The trailer contains no actual gameplay and is merely a teaser trailer to set the tone for what we can expect. Having said that, it does reveal a lot about the game.
For one thing, we see both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, implying that both characters may team up again in the game. Alternatively, alternate between either hero throughout the story. There are also several hints about who the villains might be.
So far, Venom is the only confirmed villain for Marvel's Spider-Man 2. But who else could we see? An ominous voice speaking over the trailer mentions looking for a new challenge and a formidable opponent, which sounds a lot like Kraven the Hunter. Beyond these two, it's unclear who else from the might appear.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Leaks
Little information about Spider-Man 2 has been leaked or otherwise revealed. Since the initial reveal, Insomniac Games has been almost completely silent. But, we're hopeful to see more regarding the game in future events and showcases.
The game itself will likely not be coming to previous-gen consoles and only on next-gen consoles such as PS5 and Xbox Series X platforms, as well as on PC either upon release or a while after it releases since the first game only becomes available on PC once the remaster rolled around. For now, we'll just have to wait and see for more details surrounding the upcoming Marvels Spider-Man 2.
