Mortal Kombat 1 fans are eager to get their hands on more characters and, thanks to the series' regular rollout of DLC content, it won't be long before some are on the way. NetherRealm Studios have revealed that two iconic characters are set to join the roster: Omni Man and Homelander.
Homelander, a main antagonist from The Boys, is no stranger to having video game counterparts. Earlier this year, the egotistical superhero made his Call of Duty debut across Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. Now, it seems Homelander is set to wreak havoc in Mortal Kombat 1. So, when is Homelander set to arrive in-game? Here's what we know so far.

When Does Homelander Come To Mortal Kombat 1?
Despite having been confirmed as a DLC character for Mortal Kombat 1, it's likely that we won't be seeing Homelander immediately. He's expected to be the final character available through DLC as part of the Kombat Pack. Unfortunately, NetherRealm has yet to reveal exactly when the Kombat Pack is set to release.
With both superheroes Omni Man and Homelander set to arrive in-game, it would make sense for the two to be linked in some way. Twitter user @thethiny (known for their MK leaks and news) claims that players could expect more information on Omni Man to release on October 12, 2023. This news was based off of a Tweet from Ed Boon, in which the letters NYCC (standing for New York Comic Con) were spelled out. User @thethiny said, "Ed said NYCC in his tweet, which is October 12. And we know omniman is first DLC." Whether or not Homelander will also be part of this new information drop remains to be seen.
Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander Rumored Abilities
While it's still early days, Ed Boon has already offered fans some idea of what to expect from Homelander once he arrives in Mortal Kombat 1. Speaking to IGN at Gamescom, Boon said, "Obviously we could do anything with the characters, but I don't think we're going to have both Homelander and Omni-Man have heat vision or something like that."
He went on to say, "We're not going to have them both do all the kind of category of Superman-type things. We're going to divvy up those abilities, so it's not like it's just a clone of the same character. They're definitely going to play differently. The main attacks are going to really differentiate them, but we're definitely aware of the assumption that some people were making on, 'Oh, they're just going to be the same characters.'"
Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander Kombat Kast
The Kombat Kast is a special stream where NetherRealm reveal and discuss new characters heading to Mortal Kombat. Given the popularity of Homelander as a potential character, there's a good chance that we'll see a dedicated Kombat Kast being broadcast ahead of his release.
Unfortunately, without a release date, it's unclear exactly when a Kombat Kast for Homelander could emerge. We anticipate, however, that it'll arrive after Omni Man's release which is speculated for later this month. We'll be sure to keep this page updated with all the latest information as it's revealed.
