Mortal Kombat Announcement Being Teased For This Week

After several leaks from last week that stated the next Mortal Kombat game would be called Mortal Kombat 1, and a video showing a clock changing from 11 to 1 posted by official Mortal Kombat platforms, series creator Ed Boon is teasing an announcement for this week. 

With the recent leaks being so comprehensive and including prices and editions, it's likely that this upcoming announcement is the official reveal of the new Mortal Kombat game. The last Mortal Kombat game was released in 2019, with Mortal Kombat 10 released in 2015, so a four-year development cycle would fit with the current rate of release for the series.

Of course, there is also the very slim potential that Boon is being his usual self and baiting fans into hyping themselves up over the wrong thing, and is actually intending to reveal a completely different game or reveal nothing at all.
