A special presentation for Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath showcased what to expect from new character Fujin, along with a new retro stage.

Ahead of its release next week, NetherRealm Studios debuted a bunch of new footage for new character Fujin from Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath.

The Wind God character, who hasn’t been playable in Mortal Kombat for nearly 14 years, looks like one of the flashiest fighters on the whole roster - using a small rapier sword and various wind attacks to give him extra mobility.

Using the wind, Fujin can literally walk on air above and around the opponent. He also has wind kicks ideal for launching into combos and a wind spin anti-air attack.

In a relatively unseen move for Mortal Kombat, Fujin can also air parry opponents. Just in case that wasn’t enough, he also has a crossbow with bouncing bolts.

His fatality, while not as gross as Sheeva’s, sees the character rip out an opponent’s intestines, use them like a kite, before splattering them onto the ground in an explosive mess.

Elsewhere in the Kombat Kast with NetherRealm developers, they explained how there’ll be five chapters in the story campaign for Aftermath in total.

There will also be four new stages, one of which titled Retrocade is based on the Mortal Kombat stages of yore with some cool nostalgic flourishes.

The free patch alongside Aftermath will also come with armour break moves for every character, which is designed to “spice up” the meta to make player’s think twice about using armour moves. Each character’s armour break move will be different too, ranging from normal to special moves.

The next Kombat Kast will focus on Sheeva and Robocop’s moveset on Monday 25th May, a day ahead of Aftermath’s release on the 26th May.
