How To Cure Disease In Nightingale

In Nightingale, you can catch a disease if you're not careful. Here's how to cure it should the worst happen.

There's plenty of layers to Inflexion Games' survival adventure, Nightingale. From its Victorian-fantasy overtones, to its harsh survival elements — there's plenty to contend with. One status to look out for, however, is Disease

This particular affliction can be brought on fairly quickly, particularly if you find yourself in a swamp biome. It occurs from standing in deep, dirty water for a prolonged period of time. Let the Disease meter fill up too far and you'll start to take some serious damage. So if you find yourself riddled with Disease in Nightingale, here's how to cure it.

How To Cure & Heal Disease In Nightingale

Like most status effects in Nightingale, Disease steadily builds up a meter when you're exposed to a certain environment. Removing yourself from that environment will slowly reduce the bar over time. In the case of Disease, get out of the water and return back to dry land.

But that's only part of the solution. If you've taken on too much Disease, you'll start to lose health fast. It can even deplete your health before you've gotten rid of the Disease meter. To combat it, make sure you have some Healing Salves on hand to replenish your health. By consuming one or two salves, you should be able to outlast the Disease meter altogether.

You're taught how to craft Healing Salves early on in the tutorial, but if you need a refresher here's what you'll need to gather:

  • x1 Bone
  • x1 Plant Fiber
  • Cooking Station

You'll find Plant Fiber from various plant sources around the biome, whereas Bone can be harvested from any organic creature you slay, such as ox, pigs, and more. Be sure to always have a good supply of Healing Salves (or Healing Potions) in case you end up afflicted with any nasty Diseases.

Nightingale is available to play on PC via Steam and The Epic Games Store. The game launched in early acess on February 20, 2024.
