Outriders Worldslayer - Top beginner's tips for solo players

Heading into Outriders Worldslayer all alone? Here's our beginner's guide to aid all solo players playing the game for the first time.
Outriders Worldslayer - Top beginner's tips for solo players

Outriders Worldslayer is a co-op looter-shooter, and like most good looter-shooters, you will enjoy it more with a friend or two. However, if you're one of those brave souls willing to venture alone in this vicious post-apocalyptic world, there are a few things you need to keep in mind.

The base game launched with its fair share of balancing issues, making some encounters downright impossible for solo players to complete.

Sadly, certain sections of the new Outriders Worldslayer campaign and its endgame Trial of Tarya Kratar can also be a nightmare for solo players. Hence, here are five beginner tips that we believe would aid any solo players, including you.

Disassemble (not sell) your Epic and Rare gear

Right out of the bat, you will notice the increased drop rate of Rare and Epic gear. As such, it won't take much time for your inventory to get full. However, instead of selling those weapons, we urge you to disassemble them.

Doing so will give you a valuable resource - Platinum, that you will need to level up your gear. You will also unlock new mods from disassembling these weapons, which you may need for your ideal build.

Level up your gear at every checkpoint

After every boss fight or mini-boss fight, you will come across a workbench where you can upgrade your gear. Never miss the opportunity to do so. You will likely favor some weapons and armor pieces over others, and we recommend leveling those pieces of equipment at every opportunity.

Outriders Worldslayer is a difficult journey as a solo player, and if you're playing at the highest Apocalypse Tier available, your enemies will be much higher level than you. Thus, it's best to keep your gear leveled up to match up with your enemies. As mentioned before, you will need Platinum to level up your gear, which you will get by disassembling Epic items.

Synergize your class skills, mods, and gear

One sure-shot way to success in looter shooter games like Destiny 2 is by having different synergy builds for various encounters. Outriders is no different in this regard, and if you're a solo player, you need to synergize your build even more to survive some of the toughest encounters.

By synergizing, we mean equipping mods and gear that increases the efficiency of your class skills. For instance, we had equipped Tremor and Earthquake skills of the Devastator class for a specific encounter.

To increase their efficiency, we synergized these skills by equipping mods that allowed us to use the Earthquake skill twice before cooldown, received two additional Tremor explosions, and granted extra armor for each enemy affected by the Earthquake skill, and more.

To make it simple - equip gear with mods that make the class skills you have equipped more powerful. You can always swap a gear's mod and insert them in other weapons and armor.

Spend your Ascension Points wisely

Spending Ascenion points wisely is essential for an ideal build. (Picture: Square Enix)

The Ascension system allows for long-term progression in Outriders Worldslayer. You gain an Ascension point every time you level up your Ascension rank. You can spend these Ascension points over four different attributes. They are - Anomaly, Endurance, Brutality, and Prowess.

Unlike Skill points, Ascension points are hard to come by, which means, investing them in the right attribute for the ideal build is all the more important.

All four attributes are focused on different build types, and it's for you to decide what kind of build you want for your character and invest those Ascension points accordingly.

Do you want to have increased long-range damage or short-range damage? Do you want bonus Anomaly power, or would you rather increase your max health bonus? It's up to you to decide.

Thankfully, you can always reset your Ascension branch and experiment with a different build. That concludes our beginner's tips for Outriders Worldslayer solo players.
