Overwatch 2 Pride Event 2023: Items, Release Date, Map Update & More

Overwatch 2 is gearing up to hold a new in-game event, this time celebrating Pride. The event marks the first time Pride will be celebrated in Overwatch 2, with the game having launched in October last year.

As part of the 2023 Pride celebrations, Blizzard has confirmed that everyone who logs into Overwatch 2 from June 1 will receive an extensive collection of Player Icons and Name Cards. The designs on the cosmetics will represent the many diverse identities of the LGBTQ+ community. Some will feature specific colors representing identies, while others will also include imagery of some of Overwatch's LGBTQ+ heroes. 

In a recent blog post, the Overwatch Team said of the event, "We want Pride to be that for our players. And just as important, we want that for ourselves. One thing we have heard from both players and Overwatch team members alike is that seeing themselves in the game over the years has helped them find the strength and courage to show the world who they are,"

"We are a diverse development team and it's important to us that the universe we are creating–the world that we pour our passion and energy into–represents us, and represents a world that we want to be a part of. The work that we are putting in front of the world is an extension of ourselves."

Overwatch 2 Pride 2023 Start Date

The Overwatch 2 Pride event for 2023 will begin on June 1, 2023.

Overwatch 2 Pride 2023 Map Updates

To continue the celebrations, players will experience an updated version of the Midtown Map, which now takes place shortly after a Pride parade. Watchpoint: Gibraltar will also feature a new photo in the barracks of Tracer and her partner, Emily.
