How To Transfer Skins To Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 lets you transfer your skins and merge your accounts from the original Overwatch. Here's how to do it.
How To Transfer Skins To Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 launched on 4th October 2022, and returning players worldwide have since been flocking to the game. As a result, many have wondered whether the progression, cosmetics, and leftover in-game currency they had in the original game (OW1) would transfer to Overwatch 2.

Fortunately, nothing has been lost, although some players might need to jump through a few hoops to transfer all their data and skins. This guide details everything about account merging and data transfer options available to returning players in Overwatch 2.

How To Transfer Skins & Data To Overwatch 2 On PC

Returning players can merge their accounts and transfer skins and data from OW1 to Overwatch 2.

Most returning players shouldn’t encounter many issues when attempting to transfer their skins and data from OW1 to Overwatch 2, mainly because there’s nothing they need to do.

Upon logging in to their Battle.net accounts, players should find all their progress, cosmetics, and data transferred already to Overwatch 2.

This automatic transfer is mostly due to Blizzard Entertainment requiring players to log in to their Battle.net accounts before they can play Overwatch 2.

And if those players had purchased and played the first Overwatch, the data and subsequent contents would be immediately transferred upon Overwatch 2’s launch.

How To Merge & Transfer Skins To Overwatch 2 On Console

Returning players might find it a little difficult to merge their Overwatch accounts on consoles.

It's certainly worth noting that returning console players might find transferring skins and data a little more challenging. For the most part, players must merge their accounts from the first Overwatch to Overwatch 2 before they can transfer their skins and data.

Merging will generally take about ten minutes to complete, but the system automatically does the transferring process. We've indicated the steps players can follow the merge their console and Battle.net accounts.

  1. First, launch Overwatch 2 and ensure you have your phone nearby.

  2. Next, scan the QR code that appears on the console or screen.

  3. On your phone, follow the link to the Battle.net website. The website should show an option to merge accounts, and there’ll be a fill-out box.

  4. On the console/screen, it should show a code. Enter that code into the fill-out box on the website.

  5. Then log into your Battle.net account that you used to log in to the original Overwatch game.

  6. From there, log into Overwatch 2 on your console and press confirm to merge your accounts to begin the transfer process.

After completing these steps, players should find all their skins, progress, in-game currency, and more transferred to Overwatch 2.

All progress, cosmetics, data, etc., will be transferred after merging their initial accounts to Overwatch 2.

Sometimes it might take a little longer than usual, but the contents of their accounts from OW1 should appear in Overwatch 2 in a few hours or less, if not a day or two.

For those having issues merging accounts on the console, feel free to send Blizzard Entertainment a support request ticket to solve those issues.
