Phasmophobia: How To Use Ultraviolet To Find Evidence

Here's how to use Phasmophobia's new Ultraviolet (UV) light to find evidence.
Phasmophobia: How To Use Ultraviolet To Find Evidence

Phasmophobia has announced a lot of changes to the game's tools and progression system recently, with previous Development Previews announcing a new EMF Reader, an equipment tier system, and more. To add to those changes, Kinetic Games is doing away with the Fingerprints mechanic and introducing something new: Ultraviolet.

In this guide, we'll take a look at Phasmophobia's new Ultraviolet mechanic and how you can use it to find evidence.

How Does Ultraviolet Work In Phasmophobia

Phasmophobia's new Ultraviolet mechanic will replace Fingerprints, making it easier for players to find this evidence in large areas and when trying to find low-interactivity ghosts. Like other new equipment unveiled in previous development previews, the Ultraviolet tool comes in three separate tiers, becoming increasingly efficient and easy to use as players upgrade it.

Now, Footprints will only show when a ghost steps in a Salt Pile if they have Ultraviolet Evidence. Some core mechanics haven't changed, though, you can still get a photo when other ghosts step into the Salt Pile - and Wraiths will never do so.

UV Charging

To add to the changes to the existing Fingerprints mechanic, developers have added UV charging, meaning that you'll be able to see UV Evidence for a few seconds even after putting away your light. This will make it easy to take a photo, which is one of the best ways to make money fast in Phasmophobia

Ultraviolet Equipment Tiers

Here are all of the Ultraviolet equipment tiers unveiled in Development Preview #11:

  • Tier I - The standard Glowstick, projecting a short-range light that only lasts for one minute. You can shake it for extra uses.
  • Tier II - A UV Flashlight with a longer range and improved UV charge time.
  • Tier III - The UV Light Pro, a larger flashlight with even better UV charge time.

For now, that's all we know about the upcoming Ultraviolet light mechanic in Phasmophobia. This change will go live pretty soon, along with the other equipment changes coming to the game, so stay tuned for more information about UV and updates about this and other upcomnig features.
