Can Purrloin Be Shiny In Pokémon GO?

As we enter into October, fans of Pokémon GO have tons of content to look forward to. From the various Raid events to participate in, various Field and other Research tasks with their own set of rewards, and the topic of this article, the various Pokémon Spotlight Hours to enjoy.

Kicking off October, Purrlion will be leaping into the spotlight as the first Pokémon Spotlight Hour of the month. So in this article, we will look at this Spotlight hour in more detail and whether or not Purrloin will be Shiny in Pokémon GO.

Can Purrloin Be A Shiny In Pokémon GO?

Trainers will be delighted to know that since the Spotlight Hour in October, Purrloin now has a Shiny variant available to encounter and catch. Shiny Purrloin made its debut for the Safari Zone: Singapore event in November, for which a Shiny Liepard, its evolution, was also made available at the beginning of the event.

For players interested in catching a Purrloin right now, the event is set to begin on the 4th October from 6 pm local time to  7 pm local time. Because it is October, the spotlight hours will include some spooky, Dark, and Ghost-type Pokémon for you to catch, which Purrloin is one of the first, being a full Dark-type Pokémon.

While it can be harmed by Fairy, Fighting, and Bug moves, it can be a valuable addition to your party. Purrloin's best moves are Sucker Punch and Dark Pulse, whose maximum CP is 772. According to the Poke description, Purrlion steals from people for fun, but their victims can't help but forgive them. Their deceptively cute performance is flawless.

There's also the event bonus, double Evolution XP, where every Pokémon you evolve during the Spotlight Hour will give you twice the XP. As far as these bonuses go, this is a pretty good one.

It's also important to know that the Pokémon Spotlight Hour events will only last between the hours outlined above, so be sure to join this Spotlight hour as soon as you can, or even be early to ensure you have ample time to catch a Purrloin for your team. And keep in mind you can evolve your Purrloin into its more powerful form, Liepard.
