It is finally time for Black Crystal Tera raids to appear in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. These are special 7-star raids that are rumored to be much harder than both 5 and 6-star Tera raids. These are special events that are only available for a limited time. 

Right now, players can go try to catch the Unrivaled Charizard, a Pokemon that you cannot normally get in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Of course, when it comes to raids, people might be wondering if you can shiny hunt Charizard during the Tera Raid battles. We have the answer you are looking for down below.

Can I Catch A Shiny Charizard During The Black Tera Raid Battles?

There are a few things that you need to know about the functionality of Black Crystal Tera Raid battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Normally, you can catch as many Pokemon as you would like during Tera Raid battles. That is the standard. However, that is not the case in Black Crystal Tera raids.

In Black Crystal Tera Raids, you can only catch the main target Pokemon once per save data. That means no matter how many times you participate in the raid, you will only ever get one Dragon Tera Charizard with the Mightest Mark.

Due to that, this Charizard is shiny-locked. You will never find a shiny Dragon Tera Charizard in the Black Crystal raids. It makes sense though. Imagine a situation where you have already caught one of these Charizard but you do the raid again and you see a shiny Charizard. You would not be able to catch it. So to prevent such a situation from happening, the Charizard can never be shiny.

Is There A Way To Get Shiny Charizard In Pokemon Scarlet And Violet?

Of course, it is not the end of the world. You can still get a shiny Charizard in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it just will not have the Mightiest Mark.

All you have to do is breed Charizard and get a lot of Charmander eggs. You can shiny hunt for a shiny Charmander and eventually, you can get yourself a shiny Charmander. Evolve that Charmander into a Charizard, make its Tera type a Dragon type, and then you will have the Shiny Charizard you are looking for. It just will not have the Mightiest Mark.
