Infernape is arguably the most popular starter in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, thanks to its type and overall strength as a physical attacker. It's generally regarded as the best Sinnoh starter, able to take out a wide variety of opponents with a diverse move pool and high stats.

However, to make the most out of Infernape, players need to ensure they have the proper moveset. If not, they could be susceptible to certain weaknesses that Infernape holds, such as Psychic-types. In this guide, players can find the best moveset for Infernape in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

The best moveset for Infernape makes terrific use of its high physical attack stat. While its special attack stat is roughly the same, players should focus on using physical attacks when using Infernape, thanks to choosing from a wider variety of moves.

With that said, the best moveset for Infernape is as follows:

  • Flare Blitz
  • Flamethrower
  • Close Combat
  • U-Turn

This moveset combines two Fire-type moves and one Fighting-type move to give Infernape three Same Type Attack Bonus moves.

Flare Blitz is a powerful physical Fire move that can send any Pokémon not resistant to it back into their PokéBall.

Next, players will want to use Flamethrower, the only special move in the set. Alternatively, players can opt for Flame Wheel if they decide to EV train Infernape with physical attacks in mind.

Close Combat uses Infernape's Fighting-type and is arguably the best of its kind in Sinnoh. The action can decimate opponents; however, it does come at the expense of Infernape's stats when it is used.

The final move is U-Turn, which allows Infernape to attack and return to the party. U-Turn is a great coverage move to use against Psychic-types at the start of a battle.

Infernape's speed should allow it to move first, get a super-effective hit off against a Pokémon weak to Bug moves and then return safely to the party.

And there you have it, the best moveset for Infernape in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
