A new adventure starts in Season 3 of Sea of Thieves and it involves one of the most famous pirates ever known.
How and where to begin the Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life quest

Season 3 of Sea of Thieves is officially live and players can now begin one of the game’s biggest adventures ever. A Pirates’s Life is a new, free crossover event that sees Captain Jack Sparrow and other Pirates of the Caribbean characters enter the world of Sea of Thieves.

The crossover event brings an entirely new questline and a fresh storyline to the game. There are secrets to uncover, characters to meet and undead enemies to clash with on the open waters. However, players first need to find out how they access all of this content before they can begin the new adventure.

Below, read about how and where to start A Pirate’s Life in Sea of Thieves.

To start the adventure, you need to head over to the Castaway’s Camp. This is a new location that appears in any Outpost, near the docks. Here, you’ll meet a shady character named The Castaway sitting on a rock by a grounded ship.

Talk to the character for some background on their story and the quest itself. What you’re really looking for is the stack of books inside of the ship/shack. On the wall, you’ll see five books. Each of these books represents a Tall Tale and a new quest for you to take on. The books are labelled in order as follows:

  • A Pirate’s Life
  • The Sunken Pearl
  • Captains of the Damned
  • Dark Brethren
  • Lords of the Sea

The first book is what you need to interact with. The other books won’t be available until you first the one before it. So you need to complete A Pirate’s Life before accessing The Sunken Pearl and so on.

Once you activate the first Tall Tale, check your Quest inventory to get started. All five books relate to A Pirate’s Life so players have some work to do before they can say they finished the story.
